It came as good news for the people of Delhi-NCR after the Uttar Pradesh government asked officials of Noida International Airport to expedite the construction work so that domestic flights can begin operations from May 15th while international flights can start between 15-25 June.
Arun Vir Singh, CEO of Noida International Airport Ltd, convened a meeting with the officials of Noida Airport Authority and Yamuna International Airport Limited. He claimed that domestic flights will start operations from May 15th. However, a final date will be decided after the meeting has been scheduled for March 22.
It is reportedly said that a directive was issued on March 10 after a meeting took place between the officials and UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath who expressed his displeasure over the delay in the airport’s construction work, especially the terminal building.
Arun Vir Singh said that they expedited the airport’s construction work and the same directive has been given to all the departments after several rounds of meetings took place on Tuesday and Wednesday. Around 10,000 labourers have been deployed to the construction site to complete the task.
The CEO of Noida International Airport Ltd said they will probably get the Aerodrome license for domestic flight operations by May 15 from the Director General of Civil Aviation (DGCA.)
