Good news for commuters of Delhi and Mumbai. A newly completed 24-kilometer section of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway has opened to the public in Faridabad and Haryana. This marks the major milestone in major connectivity. The National Highways Authory of India has not yet announced the official inauguration day. But the new stretch has been opened for people about a month.
The newly opened stretch aims to elevate pressure on the National Highway 19. NH-19 faces frequent traffic. This will reduce congestion on the road and improve overall flow of traffic.
The expressway connects the Delhi-Agra route, making travel for commuters from Faridabad easier. The expressway is built at a cost of Rupees 1,729 crore, which runs from Mithapur on the Delhi border to the Kelly Village in Ballabhgarh.
New Section To Have Six Entry And Exit Points
This new section, expressway have six entry and exit points. This makes is comfortable for people travelling in local area to people travelling for a longer distance.
According to the officials the 12-lane expressway which runs from Mithapur on the Delhi border to the Kelly Village in Ballabhgarh has been opened to traffic.
Dhiraj Singh, Project Director, NHAI, mentioned that traffic has been resumed on the route but the official opening of this yet to be announced by the authorities.
The expressway is designed to tackle with traffic and make the overall slow of traffic smooth. This features a 12-lane layout, with six-lane main carriageway and three—lane road, which provide ample space for vehicle running on the route.
This segment is part of Three of Delhi-Mumbai Expressway, which is from sector 62-65 in Faridabad to junction near the Kundla-Manesar-Palwal section of Western Peripheral Expressway. This came into effect in May 2023.
The construction for the second package of expressway began on August 10, 2021. The project got delayed and got completed 14 months later from the expected date.
