There is a good news for commuters in Karnataka as the state is expected to get two Greenfield expressways soon. These two expressways will enhance Karnatakaโs infrastructure and ease travel experience of commuters.
According to a report by โOneIndiaโ, Union Minister of State for the Ministry of Railways, V. Somanna shared details on these new ventures, which aims to enhance connectivity and streamline transportation in Karnataka. Somanna mentioned that a 114 km stretch from Hassan to Hiriyur, will be developed at an estimated cost of Rs 4500 crore. Along with it, 700 km Pune-Bengaluru expressway is set to be constructed, which will cost up to Rs 55,000 crore.

The ๐๐ฎ๐ง๐-๐๐๐ง๐ ๐๐ฅ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ฎ ๐๐ซ๐๐๐ง๐๐ข๐๐ฅ๐ ๐๐ฑ๐ฉ๐ซ๐๐ฌ๐ฌ๐ฐ๐๐ฒ will cover 12 districts, out of which nine districts are in Karnataka and three in Maharashtra. Some of the locations are Jagalur, Chitradurga, Madhugiri, Doddaballapur, Nelamangala in Karnataka and Sangli, Satara and Pune in Maharashtra. The extensive reach will facilitate inter-state transportation and boost economic growth. In addition, it will also ease traffic congestion and cut travel time between Bengaluru and Pune.
The expressway will enhance connectivity and create opportunities for tourism, trade and job.
As per reports, the Maharashtra section of the upcoming 8 lane access controlled greenfield Pune-Bengaluru expressway has received environmental clearance. This paves the way for it to get clearance from Cabinet. Upon its completion, Pune Outer Ring Road to Bengaluru distance could be covered in just 7 hours. The much awaited Pune-Bengaluru Greenfield Expressway was first announced in 2018 by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari.
Another Project that is expected to be gifted to people of Karnataka is Hassan-Huliyar-Hiriyur Road Project. The proposed project is a part of Bharatmala Project of NHAI. The project route will start from Hassan in Hassan District and end at Hiriyur in Chitradurga District. The road is 70m wide and 4-lane.
