Good news for passengers! Now the current booking of tickets in eight Vande Bharat Express trains operated by Southern Railway can be done only up to 15 minutes before the start of the journey. To implement this new facility, Indian Railways has made necessary changes in its Passenger Reservation System (PRS). Its aim is to give a better experience to the passengers and to simplify and facilitate tatkal ticket booking from enroute stations in Vande Bharat trains.
However, this new arrangement has been implemented only on Vande Bharat trains of the Southern Railway zone. The zonal railway said in an official statement: “In 8 Vande Bharat trains of Southern Railway, passengers will now be able to book tickets from enroute stations up to 15 minutes before the departure of the train.”
Earlier this facility was limited, and tickets could not be booked from enroute stations after the train had left the origin station.
Under this change, now the vacant seats of the train will also be available for current booking at enroute stations, which will provide convenience to the passengers and also improve the seat occupancy and operational capacity of the train.
The trains On Which This Facility Has Been Implemented Are As Follows:
20631 – Mangaluru Central to Thiruvananthapuram Central Vande Bharat Express
20632 – Thiruvananthapuram Central to Mangaluru Central Vande Bharat Express
