Good News For Travelers! 7-Seater Helicopter Service Launches In Key Uttarakhand Cities – Check Fares, Timings, Guidelines

Uttarakhand: Heritage Aviation is set to boost tourism and make traveling easier and smooth in Uttarakhand. Under the Central Government’s UDAN Scheme, the company has launched its new helicopter service from today, March 11, 2025, Heritage Aviation told News24. The service will connect four major cities in the state: Dehradun, Nainital, Bageshwar, and Haldwani.

The company aims to provide a promising and convenient travel experience to tourists and locals by cutting down the distance between the Kumaon and Garhwal divisions. Fares And Timings

The journey from Dehradun to Nainital, which earlier took 6 to 7 hours to complete by road, will now be covered within an hour. The same goes for other routes as well. The fixed fares for the air service, reportedly decided by the Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA), are:

Dehradun to Nainital: Rs 4500 (Departure Time: 8.15 am and 2.25 pm)

Dehradun to Bageshwar: Rs 4000 (Departure Time: 10.20 am and 12.30 pm)

Haldwani to Bageshwar: Rs 3500 (Departure Time: 8.30 am and 2.25 pm)

Bageshwar to Dehradun: Rs 4000 (Departure Time: 11.10 am and 1.20 pm)

Besides promoting tourism, the helicopter service will also prove beneficial to residents and business travelers. At least two flights will regularly be operated on each route daily. Important Guidelines For Passengers

Correct Weight Disclosure: Passengers must provide correct weight while booking tickets as helicopter has weight limits in mountains. Incorrect disclosure of weight may lead to cancellation of boarding

Passenger Weight Limit: Only those passengers weighing up to 75 Kg will be permitted in the helicopter. Those weighing more than 75 Kg will be permitted only if the average weight of all passengers is within 75 Kg. Rs 100 per Kg will be charged from passengers weighing above 75 Kg (only If allowed to board)

Baggage Weight Limit: Only 5 Kgs of baggage is allowed per passenger. Excess baggage, if manageable, will be allowed at a charge of Rs 100 per Kg.
