Good News For Delhiites! Bus Commuters Can Now Book Tickets Via WhatsApp; Here’s How

WhatsApp has recently made a significant expansion to its services by introducing the option to purchase DTC Bus tickets directly on the messaging app. This new feature streamlines the ticket purchasing process, making it as convenient as buying QR Code based tickets for the Delhi Metro. Notably, WhatsApp has made this service available in both Hindi and English languages, ensuring accessibility to a wider audience.

The instant messaging platform WhatsApp announced that commuters using Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) buses in Delhi can now book and purchase tickets directly within its chatbot.

Available in both English and Hindi, commuters can access the service by sending ‘Hi’ to +918744073223 or by scanning a QR code. Currently, the chatbot enables commuters traveling on DTC and DIMTS routes to book single journey QR tickets.

Previous year, the tech giant in collaboration with the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) expanded the WhatsApp-based ticketing experience across all the Delhi NCR.

The WhatsApp-based QR ticketing service introduced by Meta India aims to simplify the transit experience for commuters, allowing them to book and buy tickets seamlessly from anywhere within the WhatsApp chatbot. DTC is the first state bus network to implement this solution for riders across Delhi-NCR.
