new Bihar trains: In a major boost for Bihar, Indian Railways has launched 14 pairs of new trains. The East Central Railway described this as its biggest initiative in October 2025. Key destinations include Patna, Nawada, Islampur, Buxar, and Gaya.
New trains and stations introduced
New rail services included one pair each from Patna to Nawada, Islampur, and Buxar, two pairs from Patna to Gaya, one pair each from Patliputra to Gaya and Ballia, one pair each from Kiul to Mokama, Jhajha to Danapur, Saharsa and Bihariganj to Purnia Court, and one pair each from Gaunaha to Narkatiaganj. Along with this, one pair each of Amrit Bharat Express was also started operating from Muzaffarpur to Charlapalli and Darbhanga to Madar.
In addition to this, the operation of 4 pairs of trains was extended for the convenience of passengers

- Train No. 22843/22844 Bilaspur-Patna Express to Buxar
- Train No. 12553/12554 New Delhi-Saharsa Vaishali Express to Lalitgram
- Train No. 75249/75250 Amha Pipra-Saharsa Passenger to Triveniganj
In October, 17 trains received new stoppages at 11 stations across the East Central Railway.
Special train for Saharsa-Amritsar on the 23rd
To address increasing passenger traffic and ensure convenience, East Central Railway will run a special train between Saharsa and Amritsar. Train number 04667, the Saharsa-Amritsar Special, will operate on November 23.
The train will depart Saharsa at 7:30 am, stopping at Mansi (8:33 am), Khagaria (8:50 am), Begusarai (9:23 am), Barauni (10:00 am), Bachhwara (10:32 am), Hajipur (12:05 pm), and Sonpur (12:28 pm).
It will then pass through Varanasi, Raebareli, Moradabad, Saharanpur, Ambala Cantt, and Jalandhar City before reaching Amritsar at 5 pm the following day. For passenger convenience, the train will have 16 coaches, including two AC third-tier coaches and eight sleeper-class coaches.
Easy tickets and other facilities
To facilitate easy ticket availability for passengers, five new UTS stations were opened in October, bringing the total number of UTS stations on East Central Railway to 433. These include Barbigha, Sarsa Jamalpur, Asthawan, and Topsarthua in Danapur Division and Triveniganj in Samastipur Division.
After Chhath, 32 mobile UTS services were made available at 14 major stations to reduce congestion at UTS counters and ensure easy ticket availability for passengers.
