A 13-km long expressway which will be connecting Bidadi and Hemmigepura in Bengaluru is back by becoming a matter for discussion. This was part of the 1995 framework agreement which was signed between Nandi Infrastructure Corridor Enterprise and the government.
The project will happen only if the two issues are resolved. The first one is releasing 13,418 acres of land back to farmers; this was for the Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor. The second one is the taking back about 2,352 acres of land which was acquired for NICE project.
Section A of Bangalore-Mysore Infrastructure Corridor project includes a 9-km link road, 42-km peripheral road and a 13-km expressway up to Bidadi.
According to reports, NICE till now has completed a part of link road, peripheral road and the expressway with not much progress. Extension of expressway till Mysuru and constructing four townships will comes under the remaining sections of project.
Merger Of NH 275 And NICE Expressway
In June this year, NICE has proposed through a letter about the merger of National Highway 275 near Bidadi and NICE expressway in Hemmigepura.
According reports of Deccan Herald, Urban Development Department shared its opinion in the favor of the extension of NICE road.
Karnataka Industries Areas Development Board had allotted 4,341 acres of land to NICE Limited. The land was allotted for construction of peripheral road, the link road and other projects.
The Karnataka Cabinet is expected to take their decision on Merge of expressways of NICE and NHAI.
