Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi Murder Triggers Karni Sena Controversies: Rajasthan has been tense since the tragic demise of Shri Rashtriya Rajput Karni Sena President Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi. On Tuesday, three individuals entered his residence out of which two fatally shot him. The third person also became the target of the assailants and lost his life. On Wednesday, the police apprehended two people involved in the crime. The public is stunned and shaken after this tragic event. Bottle Thrown at Ekta Kapoor

Around 10 years ago, during the Jaipur Literature Festival, Ekta Kapoor faced the wrath of Karni Sena members. When Kapoor took the stage for her session, Karni Sena members hurled bottles at her, igniting a protest against her presence. This incident occurred despite tight security at JLF, shocking everyone. Karni Sena was protesting against the Jodha-Akbar serial, asserting that it was misusing Jodhabai’s name. The matter sparked significant outrage.

Sanjay Leela Bhansali Slapped

In 2017, during the filming of the Padmavat movie at Amer Fort in Jaipur, Karni Sena members, led by Sukhdev Singh Gogamedi, arrived at the shooting location. Gogamedi then slapped director Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Karni Sena had objections to the film’s name, ‘Padmavati’, alleging continuous distortion of historical facts in Bollywood. Eventually, the film’s title was changed to Padmavat.

Threat to Disfigure Deepika Padukone

Actress Deepika Padukone received threats regarding the film ‘Padmavati’. However, the then head of Karni Sena Rajasthan, Mahipal Makrana, stated that if the film was released, they would disfigure Deepika Padukone’s nose.

Insult of a Soldier in a Web Series

About two years ago, Karni Sena confronted Ekta Kapoor, protesting against the web series ‘TripleX’ on Alt Balaji. They accused the series of disrespecting the army. Protests against it occurred at various locations, eventually reaching the Supreme Court. Ekta Kapoor was reprimanded during the legal proceedings.
