Goa: A shocking case has come to light from Goa’s Calangute, where two men allegedly raped three minor girls at a hotel. The accused, identified as a 19 and 21-year-old, had invited the victims under the pretext of Eid and a birthday celebration. Goa Police arrested the accused along with the hotel owner for letting the minor girl stay there without verification and their parents’ consent.
It has been learnt that the 19-year-old accused met the victim (15) on social media. They befriended each other, and a week later, she was invited by him to celebrate Eid. According to the Police, she went to meet him along with her sister (13) and friend (11) last Saturday. The prime accused plotted to sexually assault them at a Calangutte hotel with his 21-year-old friend.
Here’s what happened next! The three minor girls agreed to stay at the hotel overnight with the accused duo to celebrate one of the girls’ birthdays. While the main accused raped his alleged girlfriend, his older friend raped her younger sister and friend. Police took prompt action in the matter based on the complaint filed by the victim’s family. Additionally, the Police received a complaint from the 11-year-old minor’s family.
North Goa SP Rahul Gupta said that the three girls were rescued from the hotel after a thorough probe based on reliable human sources and technical sources. Shocking details have been revealed amid the investigation into the rape incident. The accused had checked into two different hotel rooms.
Calangute police also arrested the hotel owner and the manager/receptionist for allegedly abetting the incident. As per the latest reports, the hotel has been sealed, and its license has been cancelled. The SP was quoted as saying, “This violates the Goa Children’s Act. If any such violation is noticed in the future too, strict action will be taken.”
