A new update surfaces about the owners of the club that caught on fire in Goa, an investigation into corporate records has revealed the names of 42 companies linked to the Delhi restaurant owners Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra. These two brothers are at the centre of the investigation into the December 6 Goa nightclub fire.
These revelations have raised serious questions about the scale, structure, the financial methods, and credibility of the brothers’ business operations including their global presence.
A network of 42 companies registered to their Name
Corporate filings show that the Luthra brothers are directors and partners in 42 different companies, including private limited firms and limited liability partnerships. Investigation found that most of the companies are registered at the same address; the address that has been registered with all their businesses was 2590, ground floor, Hudson Line, North West Delhi.
The repeated use of the same address across dozens of companies is a well-known red-flag indicator in financial investigations, suggesting the existence of shell entities, anonymous fund routing, and potential presence of money laundering. Several marketing campaigns for Romeo Lane group claim an international presence in Phuket, Thailand. However, the investigation found no operational outlets, customer reviews, or verified business addresses.
Luthra brothers in custody
On Thursday, Thai authorities detained Saurabh and Gaurav Luthra in Phuket at India’s request following the issuance of an Interpol notice. Photos released by local authorities show the brothers standing next to Thai officials.
Both are handcuffed and have their Indian passports. After receiving final approval from Thai authorities, the brothers are expected to be repatriated to India within 24 hours.
Duo Escaped hours after the fire
The Luthra brothers are under criminal investigation after a massive fire broke out at their nightclub, Birch by Romeo Lane in Arpora, North Goa. According to police, the fire broke out inside the nightclub around midnight. At 1:17 a.m., the brothers booked tickets to Phuket through an online travel portal, by Sunday morning they boarded the Indigo flight from India.
At the time, emergency services were trying to pacify the situation and were trying to extinguish the fire and save trapped staff members. Goa Police later contacted the Central Bureau of Investigation following which the duo was detained in Thailand.
