New Delhi: A month after resigning from the Congress, former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad is expected to announce the formation of his new political party in a press conference today.

On being asked about his new political party, Azad said, “I will hold a press conference on Monday.” Earlier, he held a meeting with his workers and leaders.

The former CM had announced the launch of his political party in his first public meeting in Jammu after leaving the Congress. He had said that the people of Jammu and Kashmir will decide the name and flag for the party.

People of J&K will decide the name of my party: Azad

He said at the rally, “I have not decided the name for my party yet. The people of Jammu and Kashmir will decide the name and flag for the party. I will give a Hindustani name to my party that everyone can understand, Azad had said.

“My party will focus on restoration of full statehood, land rights and employment to the natives,” he had said.

The veteran politician said that the first unit of his political party would be formed in Jammu and Kashmir in view of the upcoming assembly elections. “My party will focus on full statehood, right to land and restoration of employment to the natives,” he said.

Congress’s reach is limited to Twitter and computer

Targeting the Congress, he said that people are trying to defame us (me and my supporters who have left the party), but their reach is limited to computer tweets.

Criticizing the Congress, Azad said, “Congress was made by our blood, not computer, not Twitter. People are trying to defame us but their reach is limited to computers and tweets. This is the reason why Congress is nowhere.”
