A gruesome murder has sent shockwaves through Ghazipur, Uttar Pradesh, as a brother killed his 17-year-old sister with an axe. The incident, which occurred on Tuesday evening in the Zamania police station area, unfolded when the accused, Santosh, saw his sister with an unknown boy. Enraged, he attacked her, slitting her throat with the axe before fleeing the scene.
The horrific sight inside the house left the family and neighbors horrified. In an attempt to save the girl, family members tried to stop the bleeding by tying a cloth around her neck, but their efforts were in vain. The house was described as a scene of chaos and blood.

Mahitim Bind, the father of the victim, immediately alerted the police. Rural SP Balwant Chaudhary confirmed that they received a distress call from Mahatim, reporting that his son had attacked his daughter. Police arrived promptly, taking the body into custody and sending it for post-mortem. The girl was declared dead by doctors upon their arrival.
Authorities have registered an FIR based on Mahatim’s complaint, and a manhunt has been launched to capture Santosh, who remains at large. The police are investigating the incident further, while the community grapples with the shocking crime.
