Approximately 7,000 bottles of unsold liquor were destroyed using a bulldozer, valued at nearly 8 crores in Ghaziabad, stored in a warehouse in the Morad area on National Highway 9. The destruction was carried out in the presence of officials from the Excise Department.
Providing details about the entire incident, Excise Officer Rakesh Kumar Singh explained that this liquor was quite old, and at the time it arrived, the duty was not deposited. Although the duty was later paid, the liquor remained unsold. Therefore, for technical reasons, this liquor is being destroyed to prevent any misuse.

The excise officer explained that the godown primarily contained Bacardi company’s liquor, which was quite old. Due to the absence of provisions like barcodes on the bottles of this liquor, as per the new liquor policy, it couldn’t be sold in the market. Therefore, it was destroyed today. He mentioned that the estimated value of the destroyed liquor is around 8 crores. Before this, nearly 12 crores worth of liquor has also been destroyed in a similar manner.
Earlier, in July, the Excise Department disposed of expired alcohol bottles worth 13 crores In Ghaziabad. The administration again used a road roller to destroy all these bottles
