The Prime Minister emphasized that civilian casualties in the ongoing conflict are a matter of grave and ongoing concern, insisting that those responsible for such incidents should be held accountable.

The massive blast at the Al-Ahli hospital in Gaza City on Tuesday resulted in a tragic loss of at least 500 lives. Hamas attributed the blast to an Israeli airstrike, while the Israel Defence Force denied any involvement, asserting that the incident occurred due to a missile misfire by a Palestinian armed group, Islamic Jihad.

Leaders from various nations and UN officials expressed their shock and condemnation of the incident. United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres strongly condemned the strike, expressing his horror at the killing of hundreds of civilians.

US President Joe Biden also expressed outrage over the explosion at the Gaza hospital and directed his national security team to gather more information about the incident.

The Israel-Hamas conflict erupted on October 7 after Hamas launched rockets towards Israel, prompting Israel to declare war in response. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had earlier expressed India’s solidarity with Israel during the initial stages of the conflict.

Speaking of, while the blame game continues between Israel and Palestine regarding the hospital strike, PM Modi highlighted the need to address civilian casualties and emphasized the importance of holding those responsible for such attacks accountable.
