Gangster Arrest: A gangster from Maharashtra was briefly released from prison but was returned after a video of his celebration rally went viral online. Harshad Patankar, a notorious criminal from Nasik, had been imprisoned under the Maharashtra Prevention of Dangerous Activities of Slumlords, Bootleggers, Drug Offenders, and Dangerous Persons Act (MPDA).

He was released on July 23, and his supporters organized a car rally to mark his release. Approximately 15 two-wheelers joined the rally, which reportedly stretched from Bethel Nagar to Ambedkar Chowk. In the viral footage, Patankar is seen waving to his supporters from the sunroof of a car.

Following the re-arrest, Harshad Patankar’s supporters posted more videos on social media, which have gone viral and sparked significant discussion. The police have taken serious notice of the situation, leading to a case being filed at Sarkarwada police station for violating curfew orders and inciting fear with the procession.

The videos led to police intervention, resulting in Patankar’s re-arrest along with six of his associates for conducting an unauthorized rally and causing disorder. Reports indicate that multiple police cases have been filed against him, including charges of attempted murder, theft, and violence.
