Ganga Expressway Construction Accelerates: Five Girders Installed For Railway Overpass In Uttar Pradesh’s…

On Thursday, five girders were successfully installed on the bridge during a two-and-a-half-hour block granted by the railways.

Following the construction of a bridge over the railway line for the Ganga Expressway near Sonic station on the Kanpur-Lucknow route, the installation of steel girders is currently underway. On Thursday, five girders were successfully installed on the bridge during a two-and-a-half-hour block granted by the railways. Four of the girders were installed on Wednesday. Out of the 18 girders, nine have been installed.

Smooth Operations Despite Rail Activity

Station Master Sudhanshu Mohan stated that the remaining girders will be installed as soon as the railways provide further time blocks. He also confirmed that rail traffic remained unaffected during Thursday’s installation. The railway allotted a block from 12:00 PM to 2:30 PM on Thursday, during which the implementing agency, Patel Infrastructure, placed five girders.

Project Timeline And Engineer’s Remarks

The project engineer Sanjeev Tiwari stated that 18 steel girders need to be set on the bridge above the railway track but the current placement includes nine girders while additional blocks from the railways will lead to the installation of the remaining girders.

Expressway Stretch Diverted For Smooth Progress

The Ganga Expressway project extends its construction from the Lucknow-Agra Expressway at kilometer 252 beyond Shadipur village in Unnao while developing another bridge in the area. To ensure smooth progress and avoid any obstructions, a 1.5 km stretch has been diverted. The area spanning 1.5 kilometers has been turned into a Lucknow-bound traffic lane.

Traffic Management And Public Safety Measures

Unnao SP Deepak Bhukar has placed Behatamujhawar police and traffic personnel at positions where they warn drivers while guiding them to safe routes. The public addresses issue directions for drivers to decrease their speed near the alternate route. Drivers who traveled from Agra to Lucknow received public warnings through loudspeakers at the directed route. The installation of huge signboards assists both the safety of diverted traffic and their directional guidance.
