A recently busted drug-peddling cartel in Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow, has set new standards for how ingenious criminals can be in hiding their operations from the police. During the investigation, police arrested four individuals who were supplying drugs in such a deceptive manner that it could have easily misled authorities.
One of the accused, 42-year-old Pramod Sahu, ran a food stall as a front for his drug business. After confirming his concealed operations, the police apprehended him.
In a similar case, police caught three others – Manish Yadav (26), Dev Rawat (28), and Jagdeep Yadav (43) – who were allegedly selling drugs hidden in school bags. They used these bags to discreetly transport and sell drugs at railway stations, bus stands, taxi stands, and even in front of schools and colleges. Police recovered nearly 4.7 kilos of drugs from them, and the case has been registered in the Nagram area.
Using school bags helped them avoid suspicion and allowed the illegal trade to grow into a cartel-like operation. The drugs were packed in small packets, making them easy to hand over to users without attracting police attention.
