BJP’s Vijender Gupta has made a remarkable transition from being forcibly marshaled out of the Delhi assembly in 2015 where he was seen resisting by clinging to furniture over a heated dispute, where his colleague OP Sharma made derogatory remarks against then AAP MLA Alka Lamba, to becoming the speaker in 2025.
Back in 2015, the disruption caused by the three BJP MLA’s including Vijender Gupta, OP Sharma and Jagdish Pradhan over the demands of the fourth Delhi Finance Commission’s recommendations to be implemented, led Speaker Ram Niwa Goel to order the marshalls to remove them to maintain the decorum of the house.
