He shared his experience on his X handle. Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan mentioned that, “Today I had to come from Bhopal to Delhi, inaugurate the Kisan Mela in Pusa, hold a meeting of the Natural Farming Mission in Kurukshetra and discuss with the honourable representatives of the Kisan Organisation in Chandigarh.”

He also mentioned that, “I had booked a ticket on Air India flight number AI436, I was allotted seat number 8C. I went and sat on the seat, the seat was broken and sunken in. It was uncomfortable to sit. When I asked the airline staff why the seat was allotted to me if it was bad, they told me that the management had been informed earlier that this seat was not good and its ticket should not be sold. There are not just one such seat but many more.”

Shivraj Singh Chouhan mentioned that his co-passenger offered him a better seat but he decided to complete the journey on the same seat.

He mentioned about the service from Air India. He wrote that, “My impression was that Air India’s service would have improved after Tata took over the management, but it turned out to be my misconception.”

This is not for the first time when someone faced this kind of issue. Previously such incidents took place with others too.

CEO of CaPatel, Anip Patel shared his experience of travelling in Air India using his Instagram Handle.

He mentioned that, “I recently endured a 15-hour non-stop flight from Chicago to Delhi, and it was far from pleasant. I had heard negative things about Air India in the past, but I was hoping the recent changes under new management would improve the experience—unfortunately, that wasn’t the case. There was no Wi-Fi, and the in-flight entertainment was down for the entire flight. First class was in poor condition—unclean, with leftover food and trash still in the cabin, and everything looked worn out or broken. It was a pretty frustrating experience overall. Be aware if you’re flying with them.”

Indian Hockey player Rani Rampal shared her experience on her X handle and mentioned about the damaged luggage issue.

She wrote that, “Thank you Air India for this wonderful surprise. This is how your staff treat our bags. On my way back from Canada to India this afternoon after landing in Delhi I found my bag broken.”

Not only this a passenger travelling from Delhi to New York found a cockroach in the omelette. She mentioned that, “Found a cockroach in the omelette served to me on the Air India flight from Delhi to New York. My 2 year old finished more than half of it with me when we found this. Suffered from food poisoning as a result.”

In August 2024, Ricky Kej shared his experience of travelling in Air India using his X handle. He wrote that, “Wow.. 3rd time this is happening to me in one year. I booked and paid for a business class ticket on Air India from Mumbai to Bengaluru. When I reach departure gate, the staff rudely tells me that I have been downgraded (for no reason) and they cannot give me a refund. What’s up with AirIndia? The person on the counter is Nishita Singh. Absolutely not helpful, and impolite. Air India really needs to introspect and see if they are capable of running an airline in the first place. I am currently at the departure gate. Flight taking off at 9.25am.”
