Various businesses in Bengaluru are offering incentives to boost voter participation in the upcoming Lok Sabha voting on April 26. With over 1 crore eligible voters in the city, hotels, pubs, and taxi aggregators are providing discounts, freebies, and complimentary rides upon displaying an inked index finger. This isn’t the first time such initiatives have been observed.
For example, Nisarga Grand Hotel on Nrupatunga Road is offering voters complimentary butter dosa, ghee rice, and a beverage on polling day.

Deck of Brews, a resto-pub in Bellandur, is rewarding voters visiting on April 27 and 28 with a free mug of beer and discounts, as a token of appreciation for their contribution to the nation’s development.
SOCIAL, a pub chain, is running a special campaign distributing bills promoting voting. Guests who return these bills after voting and show their inked fingers will receive a 20% discount on their meal for a week following voting day in their respective cities.
Rapido, the taxi aggregator, is providing complimentary rides to differently-abled and senior citizen voters in Bengaluru, ensuring equal access to voting.
Pavan Guntupalli, Rapido’s Co-founder, emphasized the initiative’s goal of enabling every voter in Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Mangaluru to fulfill their duty, particularly ensuring equitable access for differently-abled and senior citizen voters.

In support of voter convenience, Bengaluru Metro services will be extended on April 26. The last trains from all terminal stations and the Majestic interchange will operate later than usual to accommodate voters participating in the elections.
