Details on Delhi Shoot Out

The shootout between the gangsters and the teams of the Delhi and Bihar Police took place at 2.20 am (October 23) in Northwest Delhi. According to Delhi Police sources, the encounter broke out when the police tried to intercept the gang members, who opened fire in an attempt to escape.

Who are the Sigma Gang?

According to the police, Sigma gang had built a vast network involved in extortion and contract killings across Bihar over the years. Delhi Police confirmed that the four men were wanted in several heinous crimes, including murder, extortion, and organised criminal activities in Bihar.

Ranjan Pathak – Most Dangerous member of the gang

Ranjan Pathak is considered to be the most dangerous person in the gang. Delhi Police revealed that Pathak had been openly challenging the cops through social media and audio messages. The clue that led the police to launch an operation against the gang involved a major conspiracy hatched ahead of the Bihar assembly election. The police recently recovered an audio clip that allegedly revealed details of the plan related to the Bihar polls.

The Sigma Gang had been active for nearly seven years and was reportedly regrouping in Delhi to evade police action in Bihar. The police had been tracking their movement for several days before the operation. Following the encounter, the area was cordoned off, and forensic teams were called in to collect evidence.
