Former Uttarakhand Chief Minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat narrowly escaped unhurt in a road accident near Kankerkheda while travelling from Delhi to Dehradun on Saturday. The incident occurred during his journey on the busy highway, but fortunately, no serious injuries were reported. Rawat, who is a part of Congress Working Committee (CWC), had recently expressed optimism about the Mahagathbandhan alliance winning the upcoming Bihar Assembly Elections. He stated that Bihar is waiting to show the path of change to the entire country in the upcoming assembly polls. Elections for the 243-seat Bihar Assembly are scheduled to be held in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with the counting of votes set for November 14.
