Sonu Rana, Gurugram: The body of a foreign woman was found under the IMT Manesar Chowk flyover in Gurugram on Sunday morning. She was found without clothes and had multiple injury marks. Police suspect she was murdered elsewhere and her body was dumped under the flyover during the night. The body has been taken into custody and sent for a post-mortem. Efforts are underway to identify the deceased.
The police control room received a call around 8 am on Sunday about a body lying under the flyover. Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), fingerprint experts and police reached the spot in no time. The woman’s clothes were found near her body.
The deceased is estimated to be between 25-35 years old, but her identity has not yet been confirmed. Police suspect either suicide — by jumping from the flyover — or that she was thrown from above after being murdered. No documents or identity papers were recovered from her clothes, making identification difficult. CCTV footage from the vicinity is being scanned for clues, police said. Police informed the local African community in the area about the incident. After receiving the information, they reached the spot. They said the girl was from Kampala, Uganda, and had come to India on a one-year study visa. However, they added that they did not know her name.
Investigation Into Sex Racket
According to ‘The Pioneer’ report, police are also investigating whether the case is linked to a sex racket. Officials believe the murder may have been committed elsewhere and the body dumped at the flyover during the night. The report also states that the police spokesperson Sandeep Kumar Stated that the woman was a Ugandan national. They have also detained two suspects for questioning. “The deceased bore multiple injury marks on the head and body. Interrogation of the suspects is underway, and the case will be solved soon,” he added.
Authorities are trying to confirm the woman’s identity using local and national records. The Ministry of External Affairs has contacted the Ugandan mission in India to verify her details and trace her last movements.
