In a tragic incident in Kerala a 15- year old student took his life after enduring severe ragging and bullying at school because of his skin colour. Mihir Ahammed jumped from the 26th floor of his building after returning home from school on January 15. Mihir jumped from the 26th floor of his apartment building in Thrippunithura, Ernakulam, on January 15. His mother, Rajna PM, took to social media and claimed that Mihir was “forced to lick toilet seats” and had his “head shoved into the toilet while it was flushed.” Mihir was a student at Global Public School in Thiruvaniyoor, Ernakulam.
FIR Registered
An FIR has been filed at the Hill Palace Police Station in Thripunithura. Furthermore, his mother has submitted a petition to the Child Commission, requesting an investigation into the harassment Ahammed suffered, including alleged mistreatment by the Vice Principal of his previous school, GEMS Kochi.
“Mihir was beaten, verbally abused, and forced to endure unimaginable humiliation even on his last day. He was forcibly taken to the washroom, made to lick a toilet seat, and had his head pushed into the toilet while it was flushed. These acts of cruelty broke him in ways we cannot fathom,” she wrote.
Mihir’s mother made this allegation after speaking with his friends and schoolmates, as well as reviewing his social media messages. While going through his online conversations, Rajna discovered the horrifying abuse her son had endured. She revealed, “He was subjected to brutal ragging, bullying, and physical assault by a group of students at school and on the school bus.”

Ragging, Bullying And The ‘Justice For Mihir’ Post
She stated that the bullying went beyond physical abuse. Mihir was allegedly targeted because of his skin color, and even after his tragic death, his tormentors continued to mock him. She shared screenshots of chat messages where some of the accused bullies were seen celebrating his death. “A shocking screenshot of the chat exposes the extent of their cruelty,” she said. They messaged ‘fk nigga he actually died’ and celebrated his death,” she stated. However, Rajna expressed concerns that delays in collecting digital evidence could allow the culprits to erase their tracks.
The family has submitted a detailed petition to the Chief Minister’s Office and the Director General of Police (DGP), along with the evidence they have gathered. They sought an immediate and impartial investigation.
Rajna even shared screenshots of the chats. One of them reads, “They made Mihir play a game where he spread his fingers out and instead of using a pencil to hit between the gaps of his fingers they made him use a knife. They also made him lick toilet seats and push his head into toilets and flush them.”
Rajna further stated that after her son’s death, his friends created an Instagram page titled “Justice For Mihir”. However, she alleged that the page was later taken down, claiming that the school pressured students to “suppress the truth”.
