Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath met with Union Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Monday ahead of the announcement of portfolios in Narendra Modi’s third government. Yogi Adityanath also met Union Ministers Rajnath Singh and Nitin Gadkari at their residences.

Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Nitin Gadkari were among approximately 30 MPs inducted into Prime Minister Modi’s Cabinet on Sunday. They took the oath of office at a grand ceremony at the Rashtrapati Bhavan, attended by both domestic and foreign dignitaries.

This is Yogi Adityanath’s first one-on-one meeting with Amit Shah since the declaration of the Lok Sabha election results.
The Bharatiya Janata Party fell short of a majority in the Lok Sabha by 32 seats, securing 240 seats. Despite this, the BJP emerged as the single largest party in the country. A National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government was formed last week under the leadership of the BJP. The BJP now relies on its allies, N Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar, to achieve a majority of 272 seats in the Lok Sabha.
