Himachal Pradesh: The Balh Valley of Mandi district in Himachal Pradesh is grappling with a flood-like situation due to heavy rainfall.
Officials have reported that the Pairi Pasta rivulet is overflowing, causing inundation of fields and houses in the valley. The water level of the Suketi Khadd Rivulet has also risen significantly, exacerbating the situation.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread light to moderate rains in various districts, including Shimla, from August 12-14. The state has been experiencing incessant rainfall, resulting in recurring landslides and rockslides across several districts.

In response to the challenges posed by the weather, the Himachal Pradesh police have issued an advisory to citizens, urging them to avoid non-essential travel, especially at night when landslides and rockslides may not be easily visible.
The impact of the monsoon continues to be severe in Himachal Pradesh, causing landslides and flash floods. A recent landslide occurred in Bilaspur district. Since the monsoon began on June 24, the state has reported a combined death toll of 223 due to rains, floods, and landslides.
The devastation has led to the complete destruction of 800 houses and partial damage to another 7500 houses, according to Himachal Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi.
