Flag Code of India: As part of the ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav’ the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign has been started across the country. Meanwhile, the central government has also changed the rules of the flag code due to the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign.
According to the information, after the change in the rules of the flag code, now the general public can also hoist the national flag at their homes. Sources said that the reason behind the change in the rules of the flag code is ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign. This decision of the Center is an attempt to bring the national flag inside the homes of the people.
Changes in flag code
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign launched as part of the 75th anniversary celebrations of the country’s independence aims to encourage Indians to display the tricolor without any restrictions.
These materials will be used to make national flags
These include cotton, polyester, wool, silk khadi. Earlier, machine-made and polyester flags were not allowed to be used. There is no restriction on the size of the flag nor are there restrictions on the time of its hoisting.
Now the national flag can be flown for 24 hours
Earlier, the national flag was allowed to be flown from sunrise to sunset. A member of a public, private organization or educational institution can now hoist or display the national flag on all days and occasions, a source said.
The Culture Ministry said that states have been motivated to use Self Help Groups (SHGs) for the production of flags. Local sewing units and MSMEs have also been included in this.
The Ministry of Textiles has identified flag producers who supply flags in large quantities.
The source said the flags would be available for sale in all 1.6 lakh post offices in the country.
The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign has been launched to motivate citizens to hoist the tricolor at their homes for three days from August 13 to August 15.
According to an official statement, more than 20 crore national flags will be hoisted over the houses for three days.
