Gangster Anmol Bishnoi, younger brother of Lawrence Bishnoi, landed at Delhi’s Indira Gandhi International Airport after being deported from the United States. On arrival, a team from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) immediately took him into custody. His first photograph after landing has also surfaced, showing him escorted by security personnel at the airport. He will be produced in court directly from the airport, highlighting the seriousness of the charges against him and the urgency with which authorities are acting.
Anmol is wanted in several high-profile cases, including the October 2024 assassination of NCP leader Baba Siddique, the 2022 murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moosewala, and the 2024 firing outside Bollywood star Salman Khan’s Mumbai residence. Investigators say he played a key role as his brother Lawrence’s overseas handler, coordinating extortion, threats and violent plots through encrypted communication. His deportation marks a major step in India’s fight against organised crime.
Custody and interrogation: What’s next
Once Anmol is presented before Patiala House Court, the NIA will take formal custody. Investigators are keen to question him about the Bishnoi gang’s international operations, including how it plans attacks, funds itself and maintains its network across countries.
Officials describe Anmol as a crucial overseas operator who managed the gang’s activities in the U.S., West Asia, East Africa and other regions. His interrogation could reveal key information about the gang’s leadership and structure, potentially leading to more arrests and helping law enforcement dismantle parts of this criminal network.
Experts say Anmol’s return is a major success for international cooperation against organised crime and could pave the way for bringing other fugitive gangsters to justice. This development is being closely watched by authorities and the public alike, as it could significantly weaken the Bishnoi gang’s reach in India and abroad.
