42-year-old Finance Company manager, Tarun Saxena has fallen to death at his house in Uttar Pradesh’s Jhansi. The incident happened on Monday after he was said to have been faced with extreme work pressure from bosses on high recovery targets. He had written an all-inclusive suicide note to his wife stating that he was facing so much pressure and his seniors were responsible for such a drastic step. Saxena had been working with a leading Financial company for eight years when he left behind a grieving wife, Megha, two children Yatharth and Pihu, and his grieved parents.
Tension At Workplace Leads To Tragic Incident
Saxena’s house help spotted him hanging at about 6:00 am and rushed to inform his cousin, Gaurav Saxena, who was residing in the neighborhood. When Gaurav reached the location, he found that Tarun had locked his wife and children in a room before committing suicide. Gaurav revealed that Tarun had been under immense pressure from his supervisors in respect to recovery of defaulted EMIs and targets. Gaurav said that when these expectations failed to meet the desired level, his salary was being deducted.
He had so much frustration, he wrote in his five-page suicide note, where he said that for 45 days he had not been able to sleep or eat. He had written his fear of the future and was continuously under pressure to either meet targets or quit. In fact, it is alleged that senior managers Vaibhav Saxena and Prabhakar Mishra instigated him on a conference call just before his death.
Family Alleges Harassment
In a heartfelt statement, the father of the late Tarun Saxena revealed the intense pressure his son faced from his work managers, Prabhakar Mishra and Vaibhav Saxena. He stated, “They were applying a lot of pressure on him and often used abusive language. They even threatened to terminate his employment. Tarun had been with the company for eight years and was burdened with the responsibility of recovering loans from customers, often having to pay out of his own pocket for not meeting targets. He was under tremendous stress.”
The Family Demands Justice
The suicide note by Saxena further contained emotional appeals to his family members, asking them to take care of his wife and children and to complete constructing the house. He also pleaded with his relatives to help his family in claiming the amount of insurance money. He has even taken the liberty of naming his seniors in the suicide note and holding their responsibility for this act and requesting his family to complain about them.
Police Wait For Complaint
Superintendent of police at Jhansi, Gyanendra Kumar said that there was a suicide note left behind where Tarun Saxena blamed harassment on his seniors. The police are yet to get a complaint from the family to take further action in this case. So far, Bajaj Finance has kept mum over the allegations and the family has failed to file an FIR.
