New Delhi: Sharing her experience in journalism and how women can make a respectable ‘career’ in journalism without ‘losing track,’ News 24’s Editor-in-Chief Anurradha Prasad addressed the Women at Media, Digital & Creative Economy Summit, organised by exchange4media in the Indian International Centre in Delhi. Media entrepreneur and editor-in-chief of India’s largest media group, News 24, Anurradha Prasad, was felicitated with the ‘Hall of Fame Award.’

The MD said, “there are many ups and downs in our careers, and they will continue. At every stage, we will have to fight. There will be challenges every day, and you will learn a lot from these challenges.”
“Many women are promoting themselves on digital media, but what are we doing? Are we promoting news or ideas, or are we just showing ourselves taking a dip in the Ganga?” Ms Prasad said, adding, “Along with promoting ourselves, we must also promote our profession, but it doesn’t seem to be happening on the ground”.
She further stated, “You can take a dip in the holy river (Ganga). No one is preventing you from doing so but promote the news as well”.
“My only suggestion and request to all the female journalists out there: please do not lose track of your profession. If your profession is good and you have a strong hold on it, then you can earn respect. Respect is more important, which comes with credibility,” she said.
Exchange4media invited those journalists who bring notable change in journalism, radio, and cinema while breaking all the barriers.
