A Pune court has granted bail to the father and grandfather of the teenager accused in a case involving the kidnapping and wrongful confinement of a family driver.
Vishal Agarwal, the father of the accused teen, and his grandfather were accused of wrongfully confining their driver and pressuring him to take the blame for a tragic road accident that killed two techies in Pune.
This development follows days after the Bombay High Court directed the immediate release of the 17-year-old boy allegedly involved in the accident, citing illegal orders to remand him to an observation home and emphasizing full implementation of juvenile laws.

The juvenile’s parents and grandfather are in jail in two separate cases related to the incident. One involves the alleged swapping of blood samples of the boy, while the other pertains to the alleged kidnapping and wrongful confinement of the family driver. The driver was threatened to take the blame for being behind the wheels during the accident.
The teenager, who was granted bail hours after the accident on May 19 but was sent to the observation home three days later amid public outcry, was released in the evening following the High Court’s order.
