In a development that may upset many people in the country and he may be targeted and slammed, former Chief Minister Farooq Abdullah has said that the terrorist attacks will continue to take place in Jammu and Kashmir till a proper solution to the problem is found. Referring to the terror attack in Baramullah district taking place on Thursday, he told the ANI, “This will keep going on in the state and it won’t stop until we find a proper solution for this. We all know from where it comes. I have been seeing it for 30 years – innocents are killed. We are not going to be part of Pakistan, then why they are doing this – to disrupt our future?”
Without taking its name, he appealed to Pakistan to stop abetting terrorism in India. Abdullah asked it to find a way of friendship. He also warned the neighbouring country that if it does not do this, there will be problems. He also apologised to the family of those who lost their lives and those who were injured.
4 Killed in Recent Terror Attacks
Abdullah’s comments came after suspected Pakistan-based terror groups attacked a vehicle of the Indian Army on Thursday, killing two soldiers and two civilian porters.
Reacting to the terror attack, former Deputy CM & BJP leader Kavinder Gupta said, “It is very unfortunate and a cowardly act. The roots of Pakistan-sponsored terrorism. However, Government and security agencies have worked a lot under a ‘zero tolerance’ policy.”
In a statement issued on Thursday, the Jammu and Kashmir Police said in a statement, “Some exchange of fire took place between forces and terrorists in Butapathri sector of District Baramulla around Nagin post. Further details will be shared after verifying facts.”
