Farm To Foreign Unified By Fiber: PM Modi At Bharat Tex 2024

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Bharat Tex-2024, a four-day global textile event held at Delhi's Bharat Mandapam. Modi highlighted the significant attendance at the event, with over 3,000 exhibitors from more than 100 countries, along with 3,000 buyers and 40,000 trade visitors. He emphasized that the event serves as a platform for stakeholders in the textile industry to convene and exchange ideas.

On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated Bharat Tex-2024, a four-day global textile event held at Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam. Addressing the attendees, Modi remarked, “Similar to how a loom intertwines threads, this event unites the threads of India and the world.”

The Prime Minister affirmed his government’s commitment to bolstering the textile sector’s contribution towards India’s development. He noted that efforts are underway to integrate all facets of the textile value chain with initiatives like Fs.

What Did PM Modi Say?

Emphasizing the significance of the five F’s – farm, fibre, factory, fashion, and foreign relations, Prime Minister Modi stated that this framework serves as a guiding principle for empowering farmers, MSMEs, and boosting exports.

Modi highlighted the recent amendments made by the Union government to redefine Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) based on investment and turnover criteria. This adjustment aims to ensure that companies, regardless of their size, can access government schemes and benefits. Efforts have also been made to bridge the gap between artisans and the market.

Prior to the inauguration, the Prime Minister toured the exhibitions and engaged with the exhibitors. Union ministers Piyush Goyal and Darshana Jardosh were also in attendance.

Who Has Organised Bharat Tex-2024?

Bharat Tex-2024, organized by a consortium of 11 Textile Export Promotion Councils with support from the Centre, features over 65 knowledge sessions with more than 100 global panelists discussing pertinent sector-related issues. The event will draw policymakers, global CEOs, over 3,500 exhibitors, 3,000 buyers from 100 countries, and more than 40,000 business visitors, including textiles students, weavers, artisans, and textile workers.
