Faridabad: A woman was found to have buried her daughter in their Faridabad home 10 months ago. This discovery came after a complaint from the father, who resides in Saudi Arabia, prompted the police to conduct a search of the house on Sunday, resulting in the exhumation of the body. The deceased, identified as 17-year-old Parveena, has been sent for a postmortem examination. The mother, Anitha Begum, is now in police custody.
The police reported that the father, Tahir, emailed them on June 7 regarding his missing daughter. When questioned about the delay in filing the complaint, the police explained that Tahir and his wife were not on good terms.
Anitha Begum denies killing her daughter, claiming that the girl died by suicide. She admitted to burying her daughter in their house, fearing that news of the suicide would tarnish the family’s reputation. Begum stated that her daughter, Parveena, had affairs and frequently ran away, leading them to lock her up. They found her dead the next morning.

“I did not kill her. She had affairs and used to run away. We had locked her up. And we slept. She died by suicide. Fearing a bad name, we buried her in the house. It was a big mistake, I admit it,” said Anitha Begum.
The police have indicated that further investigation will commence once the postmortem results are available.
