Faridabad-Jewar Expressway would soon be added to the list of expressways in Uttar Pradesh. The 31-km-long Greenfield expressway set to link Faridabad to Noida International Airport is currently under construction. Once operational, this expressway will reduce the journey which earlier took two-three hours to be completed to just 15 minutes.
The construction of Faridabad-Jewar Expressway which commenced in June 2023 is expected to be completed by June 2025. According to reports, about 24 km expressway will run through Faridabad and Palwal and another 7 km will lie in UP. The expressway which directly connects to Sector 65 in Faridabad, will enter UP running through around 19 villages of Palwal and Faridabad. The expressway is being built at a cost of Rs 2,414 crore, NHAI reported.
Additionally, a six-lane bridge is also being built on the Yamuna river in Haryana’s Mohana village. The work of constructing pillars within the river is in its final stage, reports added. All other due work regarding the same is likely to be finished soon.
The bridge construction alongside the pillar work is believed to be completed by 2026. Currently, the construction work is underway at several other places of the Greenfield Expressway at a breakneck speed. Interchange linking the Faridabad-Jewar Expressway to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway Link Road, Pile Testing work in the 8 km section of the elevated road, etc is also under-progress. Other works include making girders, putting soil, construction of underpass, etc.
