Rajahmundry (Andhra Pradesh): In a coordinated effort, fishermen and police rescued a 40-year-old woman who attempted suicide by jumping into the Godavari River in Rajahmundry, Andhra Pradesh, police reported on Saturday.
Officials reported that Dudala Nagalakshmi attempted suicide by jumping from the road-cum-rail bridge after a family dispute.
When Nagalakshmi jumped into the river, an urgent call from unknown individuals prompted a swift response from the Rajahmundry Two Town Police.

A police team, including Sub-Inspector Rattaiah and Constable Leela Kumar, hurried to the scene and enlisted the help of local fishermen.
The fishermen quickly arrived by boat and successfully rescued the struggling woman from the river. The police then took Nagalakshmi to the station, counseled her, and handed her over to her relatives.
