Explosives Scare at Bengaluru Bus Stand: 3 Arrested in Ongoing Probe 

The initial incident unfolded on the morning of 23 July, around 9:30 AM, when a BMTC assistant traffic officer raised the alarm about suspicious objects spotted at the terminal.

Bengaluru Police arrested three suspects following the initial recovery of explosive gelatin sticks and electric detonators at the Kalasipalya BMTC Bus Stand in the city. Acting on a combination of technical surveillance and local tip-offs, local forces executed the arrests.

The explosives were found at a busy transport hub used by thousands daily, and the discovery left residents in fear. In total, 22 live gelatin sticks and 30 live detonators have now been recovered as part of the investigation.

The operation was carried out under tight supervision, led by Joint Commissioner of Police (West Zone) Vamshikrishna and guided by Deputy Commissioner of Police (West Division) N. Girish. A team spearheaded by ACP K.M. Ramesh made the arrests.

The arrests come at a time when several private schools have already received hoax bomb threats, forcing evacuations and rattling parents, students, and staff. Emergency services and bomb squads have been scrambling to respond.
