Explosion During Mosque Demolition Injures Three In Handwara, North Kashmir

A sudden explosion during the demolition of a mosque in the Kasheri area of Handwara left at least three individuals injured this morning. The incident occurred as locals were dismantling the old structure to make way for a new mosque, said officials.

The blast took place unexpectedly, resulting in injuries to three individuals who were promptly transported to a nearby health facility. Fortunately, their condition is reported to be stable. The injured have been identified as Mudasir Ahmad Mir from Nutnoosa, Ghulam Ahmad Tantray from Kachri, and Owais Ahmad from Hadipora.

In the immediate aftermath of the explosion, security forces swiftly cordoned off the area to ensure public safety. A team of police officials has commenced an investigation to determine the nature and origin of the blast.

Superintendent of Police Handwara told News24 that authorities are ascertaining the cause of the explosion and that further investigations are ongoing.
