Tamil Nadu: Three people died, and one person was injured after an explosion at a firecracker factory near Sattur in Virudhunagar district in Tamil Nadu on Saturday. The injured person is being treated at the government hospital, according to the Virudhunagar District Collector.
Emergency services quickly arrived at the scene to extinguish the fire and rescue individuals trapped inside. Local authorities have initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of the explosion and evaluate the safety measures in place at the factory.

In February 2024, a firecracker factory accident near Vembakottai in Virudhunagar led to the deaths of nine individuals, including five women, and critically injured seven others.
On January 24, a separate accident at a firecracker factory in the same district resulted in two fatalities. The victims were identified as P. Kaliraj, 20, and K. Veerakumar, 50. The incident occurred at the Thalamuthu fireworks unit in Vachchakarapatti, Virudhunagar district.
