In a no-holds-barred interview with News24 Editor-In-Chief Annuradha Prasad, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju claimed that not a single inch of Indian territory has been captured by China since the 1962 war.
Rijiju Slams Rahul Gandhi
Slamming the Congress Party, he said that those who have said that China captured a part of Indian territory after PM Modi took over should be ashamed of their blatant lie. Rijiju came down upon Rahul Gandhi heavily. He said that China settled villages in those territories that it captured in 1959 and 1962 and now the Congress leader is saying that it was captured by China when PM Modi is serving as the prime minister. He added that nothing could be more “shameful” than this. The BJP MP from Arunachal Pradesh said that India is no more a weak nation under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and Beijing cannot capture a single inch of our land.
“Can’t Tell When Unified Civil Code Will Be Tabled”
Defending the Uniform Civil Code, he said that it was mentioned in the Indian Constitution and many times different high courts have also asked the government to bring it. Slamming the Opposition, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister said that those who hold a copy of the Constitution in their hands should respect it too. However, he also said that he would not tell when the bill related to the Uniform Civil Code would be tabled in the Parliament.
