In a no-holds-barred interview with News24 Editor-In-Chief Annuradha Prasad, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju claimed that not a single inch of Indian territory has been captured by China since the 1962 war.

Rijiju Slams Rahul Gandhi

Slamming the Congress Party, he said that those who have said that China captured a part of Indian territory after PM Modi took over should be ashamed of their blatant lie. Rijiju came down upon Rahul Gandhi heavily.  He said that China settled villages in those territories that it captured in 1959 and 1962 and now the Congress leader is saying that it was captured by China when PM Modi is serving as the prime minister. He added that nothing could be more “shameful” than this. The BJP MP from Arunachal Pradesh said that India is no more a weak nation under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi and Beijing cannot capture a single inch of our land.

“Can’t Tell When Unified Civil Code Will Be Tabled”

Defending the Uniform Civil Code, he said that it was mentioned in the Indian Constitution and many times different high courts have also asked the government to bring it. Slamming the Opposition, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister said that those who hold a copy of the Constitution in their hands should respect it too. However, he also said that he would not tell when the bill related to the Uniform Civil Code would be tabled in the Parliament.

Rijiju: No Alliance Pressure For Caste Census

Talking about the contentious issue of caste census, Rijiju clarified that the alliance partners have not exerted any pressure on the government for conducting caste census. He also emphasized that Prime Minister Narendra Modi never succumbs to any pressure, he works only for the benefit of the masses.

Rijiju: No BJP Member Against Waqf Amendment Bill

Talking about the Waqf Amendment Bill 2024, Kiren Rijiju made it very clear that the waqf property is not being used for religious and pious purposes. He said that the muttawalis sell the waqf property in pennies in connivance with the vested interest. The Union Minster added that if a property worth Rs 200 crore is sold for Rs 500 and a family gets the entire profit, the government cannot sit idle. The Parliamentary Affairs Minister also categorically rejected the claim that some leaders within the BJP opposed the bill.

Rijiju Ridicules Congress

The Arunachal BJP leader said that the alliance of the opposition parties had been fighting against one another, but they joined hands only to defeat the BJP under the leadership of Narendra Modi. Ridiculing the Congress Party, he said that even after losing three consecutive general elections, the party is happy, let it be so.

Rijiju: I Enjoy My Work

On a lighter note, he also said that he loved music and song in his younger days and enjoyed the company of those who played guitar. He said that he enjoys his work, never takes it as a burden and that is why he still looks younger than his age.
