Exclusive: China, Bangladesh, And Turkey Could Pose A Threat To India If Regional War Breaks Out, Says Defence Expert

Amid rising India-Pakistan tensions, US VP JD Vance urges de-escalation, warning of nuclear risks. Defence expert Sanjeet Sirohi highlights potential threats from China, Bangladesh, and Turkey.

Tensions between India and Pakistan are escalating, and the world is worried of the consequences, if a full-fledged war between these two nuclear-powered states break out. Vice President of the United States, JD Vance, has urged both the countries to de-escalate the ongoing conflict, clarifying that the world’s largest economy has nothing to do with the conflict, and would not intervene directly.

Speaking to the Fox News, the US VP said, “What we can do is try to encourage these folks to deescalate a little bit, but we’re not going to get involved in the middle of a war that’s fundamentally none of our business and has nothing to do with America’s ability to control it. You know, America can’t tell the Indians to lay down their arms. We can’t tell the Pakistanis to lay down their arms. And so, we’re going to continue to pursue this thing through diplomatic channels.”

He also stressed that this conflict may not turn into a regional war. Vance said, “Our hope and our expectation is that this is not going to spiral into a broader regional war or, God forbid, a nuclear conflict. We are worried about these things. The job of the cooler heads in India and Pakistan is to make sure that this doesn’t become a nuclear war and if it happens, it will be disastrous, but right now we don’t think it is going to happen.”

Defence Expert Sanjeet Sirohi Explains?

In an exclusive conversation with News24, renowned Defence and Foreign Relation expert, Colonel (Retd.) Sanjeet Sirohi talked on the consequences if the regional war erupts. He said, “If any regional war breaks out, China and Bangladesh may pose a threat to India. They cannot be trusted. Moreover, Turkey may also pose a threat to India by supplying ammunitions to Pakistan. However, Turkey is not a direct threat for India as it does not share the border with us.”

Sirohi again denied the possibility of nuclear conflict between India and Pakistan. He said, “Pakistan’s attempts to target locations in India last night were neutralised by India, showing the air defence capabilities of India.”

Addressing the question related to the need of induction of stealth aircraft in Indian fleet, Sirohi said, “the events, which happened last night, proved the superiority of India’s defence capabilities. However, for any country’s fleet, stealth aircraft is very-very important. The events which happened recently have further stressed this need. I hope, India will move forward in the direction, and soon decide to acquire either, F-35 stealth fighter jets from the US, or the Sukhoi Su-57 from the Russia.”
