K Chandrashekar Rao, former Chief Minister of Telangana, was admitted to Yashoda Hospitals in Somajiguda on Thursday night after sustaining a fall at his Erravalli farmhouse.
Following the fall, the BRS leader sustained a hip fracture, necessitating surgery. Elected representatives from different regions of Telangana are en route to the hospital where he is receiving treatment.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expresses concern, tweeting, “Saddened to learn about the injury to former Telangana CM Shri KCR Garu. My prayers are for his swift recovery and well-being.”

“Rao sustained a hip bone fracture, prompting medical professionals to consider the necessity of hip surgery,” TOI quoted Yashoda Hospital sources as saying.
The incident occurred while Rao was tying his pancha, though specifics surrounding the fall remain unclear. Rushed as an emergency to Yashoda Hospitals Somajiguda around 12:30 am, the development follows BRS’s recent defeat in the Telangana legislative assembly election. The Indian National Congress, led by A Revanth Reddy, secured a substantial victory with 64 seats, leaving BRS with 39. Rao, contesting from two constituencies, won as an MLA from the Gajwel Assembly but faced defeat in Kamarreddy.
Post the electoral setback, A Revanth Reddy assumed the role of Telangana’s chief minister, prompting Rao and his family to vacate Pragati Bhavan, the official residence in Hyderabad. Even prior to the elections, K Chandrashekar Rao primarily resided at his farmhouse. In the days leading to the incident, Rao had been engaged in meetings with several BRS activists and numerous MLAs at his farmhouse.
Upon learning of Rao’s hospitalization, BRS MLAs from various districts are heading to Hyderabad to visit him. Former ministers K T Rama Rao, Harish Rao, and MLC Kavitha are actively overseeing K Chandrashekar Rao’s health status and maintaining close contact with the medical team managing his treatment.
