Local goons allegedly molested Nalin Yadav, a former stand-up comedian based in Indore, who was arrested in 2021 along with fellow comic Munawar Faruqui. The police subsequently filed a lawsuit against him.
In an Instagram post last night (May 27), Nalin claimed that since his arrest, he and his brother have experienced “relentless harassment and violence from local thugs and the ruling party”.
In his Instagram post, Yadav also shared a video depicting some people attacking him and his brother. Despite lodging several FIRs against the attackers, Nalin claimed that the Madhya Pradesh police took no action.
“In my hometown, I have been given a new identity as an anti-nationalist. Some relatives and well-known members of the ruling party have been harassing me and my brother for three years,” Nalin said in his Instagram post. “Since my release from prison, we have not been home for more than three days in two years because some idiots here kept bothering us.”

Nalin also claimed that his brother’s leg was broken twice in the attack by the thugs, but the police did not take action against them.
“I thought that if I left this place, my brother would find peace from this situation, but unfortunately they broke my brother’s leg last year. We registered the first FIR, but nothing happened. Two months later, they broke the same leg and we filed an FIR again-, but nothing happened We finally decided to move financially and emotionally, but we tried, and the message continued.
Nalin Yadav claimed that he was served with legal notices and the police also issued an arrest warrant against him.
“But a month ago, an arrest warrant was delivered to my home and I found out that the police had registered an FIR against me for fighting. I was completely unaware of this; they sent the arrest warrant directly. Now. the situation is difficult for us, we don’t know what to do, how to survive this situation economically and emotionally, we are broken,” said Nalin.
For the uninitiated, Nalin was arrested along with Bigg Boss celebrity Munawar Faruqui and others for allegedly hurting religious sentiments by making inappropriate remarks against Hindu deities during a performance in Indore.
He was arrested on a complaint lodged by Eklavya Singh Gaur, son of local BJP leader Malini Laxman Singh Gaur.
