Veteran leader and MLA KA Sengottaiyan was on Saturday removed from all posts in the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) with immediate effect by party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami.
Sengottaiyan, who was serving as the District Organisation Secretary and District Secretary of the Erode Suburban West District, has been stripped of both posts.
“In the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) Erode Suburban West District: Thiru. K.A. Sengottaiyan, M.L.A., who has been holding the responsibilities of District Organization Secretary and District Secretary of the Erode Suburban West District, is hereby relieved of these responsibilities with effect from today,” AIADMK said in an official communication.
Earlier on Saturday, Palaniswami held an hour-long meeting with seven senior party leaders – including former ministers Dindigul Srinivasan, Natham Viswanathan, KP Munusamy, SP Velumani, Kamaraj, OS Manian, and Vijayabaskar at a hotel in Dindigul – following which the decision was taken.
