The hidden terrorists opened gun fire after the security forces intensified a search operation in the area.

An encounter broke out between terrorists and security forces in J&K’s Udhampur on Monday. The gun-fight erupted after joint teams of the army, police and paramilitary forces launched a cordon-and-search operation in the Soan–Martha area of Majalta tehsil.

The hidden terrorists opened gun fire after the security forces intensified a search operation in the area. Intermittent firing was underway at the time of filing this report.

Additional forces were rushed to the spot and they blocked all routes to prevent terrorists’ escape.

The IGP Jammu zone posted on X, ” IGP Jammu Zone tweets, “On a precise input from JKP, contact established with terrorists at Village Soan, Majalta Udhampur. Joint team of SOG along with Army and CRPF on job.”
