Counting votes for four state assembly elections – Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Telangana – is taking place on Saturday. While the Mizoram votes were also meant to be counted on December 3, the Election Commission announced on Friday that this would instead happen on December 4.
Taking the matter to X Union minister and BJP leader Gajendra Singh Shekhawat says, “BJP will win with a huge majority in Rajasthan. Jadugar ka jadoo khatam ho gaya hai. In MP, the BJP will form govt with a 2/3 majority. In Chhattisgarh, the party will form the govt.”

As the counting of votes progresses in the 199-member assembly seats, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is leading from Jhalrapatan. While Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan is leading from Sardarpura constituency. Vasundhara Raje is contesting the election from Jhalrapatan in Rajasthan’s Jhalawar, a constituency she has represented since 2003.
Former Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot facing off against BJP leader Ajit Singh Mehta from Tonk constituency. Pilot had beaten BJP’s Yoonus Khan by a margin of 54,179 votes to secure the seat in 2018.
Meanwhile, former Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje is leading from Jhalrapatan. Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan is leading from Sardarpura constituency.
Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot (Sardarpura), former chief minister Vasundhara Raje (Jhalrapatan), former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot (Tonk), state PCC chief Govind Singh Dotasra (Lachhmangarh), RLP convenor Hanuman Beniwal (Khinvsar) are some of the key faces among the 1,862 candidates in the fray.
