Maharashtra Assembly Election Results 2024 Live: The counting of votes for the Jharkhand and Maharashtra assembly elections has begun. The results of the highly contested election in Maharashtra will be out today, with leaders from the ruling Mahayuti alliance and the opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) expressing confidence in their respective victories.
Counting has started, with trends expected to emerge within two hours in both Maharashtra and Jharkhand. Security has been ramped up at counting centers in Maharashtra. In Maharashtra, the Mahayuti alliance, comprising the BJP, Shiv Sena, and NCP, is engaged in a fierce contest with the MVA, which includes Congress, Shiv Sena (UBT), and NCP (SP).

Polling for the 288-member Maharashtra Legislative Assembly was held on Wednesday, recording a voter turnout of 66.05%.
Key leaders in the fray include Chief Minister Eknath Shinde from Kopri—Pachpakhadi, who faces Shiv Sena (UBT) candidate Kedar Prakash Dighe. Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis is contesting against Congress’ Prafulla Gudadhe from his stronghold, Nagpur South West. Meanwhile, NCP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar is vying to retain Baramati, a traditional stronghold of the Pawar family, against Yungendra Pawar of NCP (SP)

On counting for Jharkhand Assembly Elections 2024 and Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024, BJP National Spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla said, "In both the places, NDA is going to form its government under the leadership of PM Modi.
