New Delhi: Eight Chief Ministers skipped the NITI Aayog Council meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot, Bihar’s CM Nitish Kumar, Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal and Kerala’s CM Pinarayi Vijayan did not attend the meeting.
Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann, Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao, and Odisha Chief Minister Navin Patnaik were also not present in the meeting.
Taking on CMs who did not attend the NITI Aayog meeting, The BJP said they failed to bring the voice of the people of their state to a crucial planning meeting. NITI Aayog is a strategic platform to develop a shared vision of the development of the nation.
“Eight Chief Ministers have not attended the NITI Aayog meeting today. NITI Aayog is crucial for development-related planning for the country. 100 issue were fixed for this meeting, and the Chief Ministers who decided to skip, not bringing the voice of the people of their state here,” said BJP leader and former Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad said.
