Eid-ul-Fitra 2023: Eid is celebrated across the country on Saturday. People are congratulating each other on Eid. People gathered since morning to offer namaz in Idgahs and mosques. President Draupadi Murmu and PM Narendra Modi greeted the countrymen on Eid.
Shahi Imam of Delhi’s Jama Masjid and Maulana Khalid Rasheed Farangi Mahali of the Islamic Center of India in Lucknow announced Eid-ul-Fitr on Saturday after the sighting of the moon on Friday evening.
Democratic Progressive Azad Party chief Ghulam Nabi Azad and BJP leader Shahnawaz Hussain offer prayers at Parliament Street Mosque on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, in Delhi. Azad and Shahnawaz Hussain offered Namaz here. Both the leaders have congratulated the countrymen on Eid.
Devotees throng Mahim Dargah in Mumbai
Maharashtra Governor Ramesh Bais has congratulated the people on Eid. People offered Eid prayers at Mahim Dargah in Mumbai on Saturday morning. After this they celebrated happiness by hugging each other.
Madhya Pradesh Eid:
There is celebration among the people regarding Eid in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. On Saturday morning, Namaz was first offered at Idgah in Bhopal, after which Eid prayers were offered in other mosques of the city. On Friday evening, city Qazi Syed Mushtaq Ali Nadvi of Bhopal had announced to celebrate Eid after sighting the moon. Fireworks were set off from mosques.
Eid in Bihar: CM Nitish at Gandhi Maidan in Patna
On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar reached Gandhi Maidan in Patna where people offered prayers. He said that we have been coming here since 2006. Eid is celebrated very well here. We congratulate everyone. There should be a sense of love and brotherhood among all people. We respect those who follow all religions.
Security arrangements
On the occasion of Eid, strict security arrangements have been made across the country including Delhi. The Ministry of Home Affairs has also alerted Delhi. Intelligence agencies are also ready in sensitive areas. Apart from Delhi Police, paramilitary forces have also been deployed outside mosques in Delhi. Earlier, an appeal has been made to maintain peace by holding a meeting with the Peace Committees.
